It’s beginning to look at lot like Christmas… well it is at Tony Man HQ! Looking to get the word out about my new start-up design company Tony Man Creative Design I thought it was worth getting some mailers created and distributed to the general public, plus it’s always good to get into the Christmas spirit, even though there is still just over a month to go!!
I have signed up to get some mailers distributed via the Sunderland Parents-sponsored Magic of Christmas Event at the Stadium of Light in Sunderland. Now I am trying a theory here. It’s not a specifically targeted mailshot to be sent out to business owners. I am going with the theory that there will be parents attending this event who are business owners, decision-makers or parents who are looking to have a go at starting their own business.
Like anything, a designer does for his own marketing purposes it was an agonising experience. I did have a Eureka moment with the previous mailer design that I was going to go with but, as always, I like to ask around and see what people think. They didn’t really get the gist of what I was trying to say with my “Instant Santa” concept. Basically, the mailer had a front cover which was a Santa beard with the words Instant Santa at the bottom. What you were meant to do was to place the mailer over your mouth, and look in the mirror and the concept was that the mailer will transform you into Santa. The idea was that if Tony Man Creative Design can do that for you imagine what I can do for your business!!
It was a great concept in my head but if it needed explaining and wasn’t easy to understand it had to go. So in true advertising style, I had 3 hours to create, design, artwork and approve for print to hit my distribution deadline. With two kids in tow, who like to wind each other up, it was a challenge. I am happy to say that I managed it, with a quick turnaround from the printers I use, they arrived today and I love them!!
It’s a great feeling to see something that I have created, in print and alive with potential and I have managed to hit my distribution deadline which has lessened the panic of getting something over to Sunderland Parents. I think they are better than just Business Cards as they say more about my business.
So let’s see how they get on.
